Armenian Genocide
Any Genocide that there could have been I believe that it shouldn't have occurred it is a serious cause that for most people that had had a family member or had experience it is a memory that could never be forgotten or destroyed. To have heard about the Armenian Genocide and how most people especially from the Americas did not even know about it shows how much of a Genocide there was. For the people to not express it freely about the occurrence is probably because for some it is hard to even have spoken about it compared to how the Holocaust was for many to had spoken about there's. To have learn about this was completely different because the existence about it to me was not there to me at all. After hearing about the Turkish government denying that there ever was one is even greater, what is the point or do they gain to deny such an event that for many did happen and especially when all is said at the end.

Also the different attitudes of the states involved in the genocides greatly affects how the event will be portrayed nationally. It was not in Turkey's best interest to connect itself to such an event as it rebuilt it image to the world and internally created a new national identity. It is unfortunate that we do not learn more about this event in American schools.
