I believe that like all situations that it is good to hear from both sides and even sometimes listen from a 3rd source. I have know that the situation that Gaza has has been an event that has been occuring for some time now. I find that it is unfortunate that the people who live in Gaza that are Arabs have to deal with the fact that all the hard work that they have put into their homes can be destroyed or taken away from them. I find that the people that live in Gaza that are Arabs live in a life that only seems to be filled with sadness for instances a child who has survive the attacks of the air bombs or gunshots grow up to a world that they know to be as cruel and never knowing the joys of life, they grow knowing that they can not have goals or plan for a future because they would not know if they will wake to see tomorrow or even be alive for the next 3 or 5 years.
What I found interesting about the documentary is that the U.S. steps in only hearing and supporting only one side, I know that there could only be one side that the U.S. can take and be an Allie but what I do not seem to not understand is that the U.S. attacks Iraq supposedly helping them become a Democratic country but ends up trying to take a cut of the oil that the country has so what exactly does Israel have? Is there a bigger trade between the U.S. and Israel? The truth is if the U.S. is claim to be as a nation that seems to be the one who steps in as a symbolic peace negotiator then how come the U.S. does not remember that we once were forced to be not a nation but just territories of the British similar to how Gaza is benign treated. They are imposed to live with a curfew all year around. This is just my opinion but you may correct me if you want.

You brought up some interesting ideas, relating the situation in Gaza as the one that once happened here in this country. Discussing the facts which America can’t be playing two roles in the equation, showing itself as a democratic country which is trying to help the rest of the earth to become better place, and the same time taking the Israeli’s side and supplying it with military equipments that cost billions of dollars. People in Palestine witness killing and torturing everyday, they just want to survive, humans all over the globe, grow up with dreams to become a doctor, teacher or scientist, unlike the humans of Palestine they grow up wondering while life is unfair, watching other countries controlling them and playing with their lives like they worth nothing, even animals have organizations to defend them, they take that seriously when it comes to kill an animal when isn’t the right season, or if that animal is about to instinct you can’t kill them anymore. This also my opinion, if I said anything wrong please correct me.
ReplyDeleteI think you pose some interesting questions. Your take on the video and the situation in Palestine was interesting to me because I am still a little green on the subject. This is an issue that I am interested in learning more about, mainly because it is a current event and I know so little about it. I enjoyed your response.
ReplyDeleteYour post most definitely raises some very interesting questions. I believe that the reason why the US stands so firmly (and perhaps unjustly) in favor of the Israeli side is due to the fact that Israel is a prime consumer of US military manufacturers. They bought numerous F-16's from the US and are always in need due to this on going conflict with the Palestinians.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the fact that should take into consideration all the sides of the story. I think a majority of the people, myself included, have only truly heard what the U.S. media provides them with. I think is a very important factor that sways many people to side with the Israelis. However, after watching this video, I saw a new perspective: the Palestinian perspective. I feel like this perspective should be more exposed to the American public (I doubt that would actually happen though).
ReplyDeleteThis is a great comparison with the way the US used to be under the British. We should definitely realize that there are two sides to every story we should see that there are definitely victims on both sides.
